  新浪财经讯 在《你好,中国》节目中,BCG大中华区主席、全球资深合伙人兼董事总经理廖天舒指出,企业若想继续生存、繁荣发展,转型就要成为常态。转型是为了持续推动创新,帮助企业打造韧性。

  “BCG自己也在经历转型,我们不再仅限于为客户提供思想,如今我们的工作中只有不到20%与战略相关,剩下80%都聚焦于帮助客户实现愿景。”

  以下为对话实录:

  Question:When did you start participating in CDF and why? What impressed you most during your journey in CDF?

  问:您是何时出于何种机缘开始参加中国发展高层论坛的?您感触最深的是什么?

  Answer:China Development Forum is no doubt one of the most important forums in China,I myself have been with BCG in China for over twenty years,I became the Managing Partner in 2013,and now Chairman of Greater China,And that was also the first year BCG has the honor to attend CDF,And ever since we joined the forum every year,this has become one of the most important events that we look forward to every year。

  答:中国发展高层论坛无疑是中国最重要的论坛之一,我本人在BCG大中华区工作了二十多年,在2013年时担任大中华区董事总经理,现任主席一职,那一年也是BCG首次受邀参加中国发展高层论坛,自那以后我们每年都参加,中国发展高层论坛也成为了我们每年最期待的重要活动之一。

  Over the years,there are three things that most impressed by CDF.No.1 is definitely the extremely high quality of participants, truely world-class.From the government side, the delegates have the opportunity to meet with the Prime Minister,the Vice Premier, and many minister-level officials.And from business side,the forum attracts global chairmen and CEOs from Fortune 500 companies,from both home and abroadThere are also so many world-class scholars, expressing their latest thinking at the forum.This has become a feast of ideas and information.

  过去这些年,中国发展高层论坛让我感受最深刻的有三点:首先肯定是级别非常高的参会代表,绝对是世界级的;政府方面,参会代表们有机会可以与总理、副总理和许多部长级官员进行会面交流;企业方面,论坛吸引了全球500强企业的主席和总裁,国内外的企业都有;还有许多世界级学者在论坛上分享他们的前沿思考,这些都使论坛成为了一场思想碰撞和信息融合的盛宴。

  Second, the theme and topic of the forum in each year is the most important and thought-provoking topics of our time,Not only crucial to the development of China,but very relevant to business leaders’ agenda.

  其次,论坛每年的主题都是当年或者当下最重要、最发人深省的话题,不仅对中国的发展至关重要,也与企业领导者息息相关。

  Lastly,you know this is a platform and a bridge,which the most important policies and issues are discussed,and suggestions are being made.Now the forum has over twenty-year’s history and it has also become a reunion every year for old and new friends to meet and to exchange the most important issues of each year.

  第三,论坛是平台也是桥梁,代表们在这里探讨最重要的政策和问题,纷纷建言献策,如今,论坛已举办二十余年,成为了每年新老朋友重聚的盛事,大家就最重要的问题交换意见和建议。

  Over the years,BCG has benefited a lot from CDF as a platform.And the forum also gives us the opportunity to contribute to the most pressing economical and social issues in China.

  过去这些年,BCG从中国发展高层论坛获益匪浅,论坛也给了我们为中国最紧迫的经济和社会问题建言献策的机会。

  Question:What are the changes toward CDF and the development of China within the past 20 years?

  问:过去20年,中国发展高层论坛有了怎样的改变?中国的发展又经历了哪些变化?

  Answer:CDF itself is very much a reflection of the progress China has made in the past twenty years

  And the scale and depth of the changes in the past twenty years are unparallelled and truely remarkable.Along with the changes,we see the profile as well as the quality of the forum improve every year.While this is a China Development Forum,it has become a global and world-class platform.And BCG in the past twenty years,we have witnessed and participated and contributed to the success of China.

  答:中国发展高层论坛本身也反映了中国过去20年的进步,过去20年来所发生的巨变,从规模和深度上来说都是举世无双,令人赞叹。随着中国的不断进步,我们也看到论坛的规格和规模在逐年提升,虽然名为中国发展高层论坛,但已成为世界级的全球论坛。BCG在过去20年见证和参与了中国的成功,贡献了自己的一份力。

  In fact,we were the first international consulting firm with official presence in China.That was back in 1993, with the support from the Shanghai Government, we set up our joint venture with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Shanghai Branch of Bank of Communications,and became the first multinational consultancies to serve Chinese companies.And exactly twenty years ago,in 1999, with the continued open-up of China,we were formally granted the status of wholly foreign-owned enterprises.And the next two decades, we saw rapid development of Chinese economy and Chinese companies.

  事实上,我们是第一家正式入驻中国的外资咨询公司。那还是在1993年,在上海市政府的支持下,我们和上海交通大学及交通银行上海银行建立合资公司,成为第一家有资格为中国企业服务的跨国咨询机构。随着中国经济开放程度的不断提升,我们在1999年——恰好20年前被授予外商独资企业地位。在随后的20年,我们见证了中国经济和中国企业的飞速发展。

  Today, large majority of our global partners based in China,like myself, are Chinese speaking and with Chinese origin, and most of our clients are Chinese companies with ambition to become global leaders.And in the past ten years,we have hosted our Global Partner Conference twice in China already.Today in Greater China region, we have four offices and more than 500 staff and this number continues to grow rapidly.This year, we’re going to open our fifth office in Shenzhen, it’s not just an office, it’s actually an integrated digital center with two-thirds of the staff came from our digital specialty arms.We all live in a world with increasing complexity and uncertainties.

  今天,BCG驻扎在中国的全球合伙人中绝大多数像我一样,来自中国,讲中国话;我们大部分客户也是有雄心壮志,力争成为全球领导者的中国企业。而在过去10年间,我们已经在中国举办过两次BCG全球合伙人大会。现在,我们在大中华区设有四个办公室,有超过500名员工,且这个数字还在快速增长。今年,我们还将在深圳开设第五个办公室,那不仅仅是办公室,实际上还是一个完整的数字化中心,超过三分之二的员工来自我们专业的数字化专家团队。我们都生活在一个越来越复杂、充满不确定性的世界。

  Question:At this point, what kind of challenges your company or your industry face in China? What are your suggestions for China’s future development?

  问:此时此刻,贵公司及整个咨询行业在中国面临着怎样的挑战?您对中国未来的发展有何建议?

  Answer:For businesses to continue to survive and thrive, transformation is now the norm.Transformation is to continue to drive innovation and also to build resilience.BCG is going through transformations ourselves, we are no longer just a thought partner for our clients, in many cases, we have become their partner for transformation.While strategy is still our DNA, today only less than 20% of our work is on strategy, 80% focuses on helping clients to realize the vision, that includes organization talent development, operational improvement, M&A and many other topics.

  答:企业若想继续生存、繁荣发展,转型就要成为常态。转型是为了持续推动创新,帮助企业打造韧性。BCG自己也在经历转型,我们不再仅限于为客户提供思想,很多时候,我们已经变成了他们转型的合作伙伴。虽然战略依然是我们的DNA,但如今我们的工作中只有不到20%与战略相关,剩下80%都聚焦于帮助客户实现愿景,包括企业人才发展、改善运营、并购等专题。

  Today more than one-third of our client work globally focus on digital transformation and this is particularly true in Asia and the rate will only increase.In today’s world, technology, big data, Internet of Things and AI will turn every company into an information company, or a technology company.Tomorrow’s competitive advantage lies in economics of learning rather than economics of scale.To learn on multiple time scale, leaders will need to design organization that synergistically combine humans and machines.These are the challenges of our time and we look forward to having another fruitful discussion at this year’s CDF.

  今天,我们在全球的客户工作中超过三分之一是关于数字化转型,特别是在亚洲,而且这个比例还将进一步扩大。科技、大数据、物联网、人工智能将把每一家企业都改造为信息企业,或者说是科技企业。未来的竞争性优势在于学习经济而非规模经济。要用多重时间尺度学习,领导者需要重新设计组织机构,实现人与机器的协同。这些是我们面临的时代挑战,期待今年的中国发展高层论坛能够再次展开富有成果的讨论。
