活动概要

4月23日，光华邀您与星巴克创始人霍华德·舒尔茨一起围炉夜话。

作为星巴克的创始人和灵魂人物，霍华德·舒尔茨先生带领星巴克从一个咖啡豆商铺成为世界级连锁咖啡店巨头。本周日晚上，舒尔茨先生将莅临光华管理学院，对话刘俏院长，与北大学子面对面。

本次活动语言为英语，配有中文同声传译。

On Sunday April 23rd, Guanghua invites you to join Howard Schultz, founder, Starbucks for a fireside chat.

As the founder and the driving force behind Starbucks, Mr. Howard Schultz has led the company from a store selling freshly roasted coffee beans to one of the world’s most recognized and respected businesses over the course of several decades. This Sunday evening, Mr. Schultz will be at Guanghua School of Management for an in-person conversation with Dean Liu Qiao, engaging with PKU students.

The event will be conducted in English with Chinese simultaneous interpretation.

霍华德·舒尔茨是一位富有变革精神的领导者，他在40多年间将星巴克打造成为世界上最受认可和尊敬的企业之一，致力于通过人文联结和创新来提升社区福祉。

从一开始，霍华德就立志要打造一家与众不同的企业，从人文视角出发驱动业绩增长。他认为，只有与员工和所服务的社区分享成功，企业才能实现真正的价值。正是这样的经营理念推动着他在公司发展早期就创立了两个标志性项目：首先，星巴克为所有全职和兼职伙伴（员工）提供全面医疗保险，这堪称零售行业的一次创举。其次，星巴克还推出面向伙伴的股票期权激励制度——“咖啡豆股票”。

霍华德2018年退休后，于2022年4月4日再次回归星巴克，担任临时首席执行官兼董事会成员，并在一年后把首席执行官一职交棒给拉什曼·纳拉辛汗。时至今日，星巴克体验的核心仍然与品牌创立之初一脉相承，那就是致力于“激发并孕育人文精神——每人、每杯、每个社区”。

因富于激情、杰出的领导才能以及对社区的贡献而，霍华德屡获殊荣。他不仅带领星巴克实现了创纪录的业绩表现，还为美国创造了大量就业机会，因此被美国《财富》杂志评为“2011年度最佳商业人物”。

Howard Schultz is a transformative leader who built Starbucks over four decades into one of the world’s most recognized and respected businesses, a company committed to strengthening communities through human connection and innovation.

From the beginning, Howard set out to build a different kind of company –one that delivers business excellence through a culture of compassion. In these early days, Howard created two landmark programs rooted in the fundamental belief that a business can only exceed expectations by sharing success with its people and the communities it serves. First, Starbucks offered comprehensive health coverage for eligible full- and part-time workers, among the first in the retail industry. Second, Starbucks offered partners (employees) equity in the company in the form of stock, called Bean Stock.

After retiring in 2018, Howard returned to Starbucks in 2022 as interim chief executive officer and board member, before handing over the CEO position to Laxman Narasimhan a year later. At the heart of the Starbucks Experience today, just as it has been from the beginning, is Starbucks mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.

Howard has been recognized for his passion, his leadership, and his efforts to strengthen communities. Howard was named Fortune’s 2011 Businessperson of the year for delivering record financial returns for the company while leading an effort to spur job creation in the U.S.

刘俏教授，北京大学光华管理学院院长、金融学系教授、博士生导师，国家“十四五”规划专家委员会委员，教育部长江学者特聘教授，国家自然科学基金杰出青年基金获得者, 2017年《中国新闻周刊》“影响中国”年度经济学家。

刘俏教授在公司金融、实证资产定价、市场微观结构与中国经济研究等方面拥有众多著述,其最新著作包括《我们热爱的金融：重塑我们这个时代的中国金融》、《从大到伟大2.0——重塑中国高质量发展的微观基础》、Corporate China 2.0: The Great Shakeup与Finance in Asia: Institutions, Regulation and Policy。在2001年至2003年间，曾任职于麦肯锡公司，负责麦肯锡在亚洲企业金融领域的研究，并为大型亚洲公司和跨国公司提供服务。加入北大光华前，曾任教于香港大学经济与工商管理学院，并获港大终身教职。

Professor LIU Qiao is the Dean and Professor of Finance at Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. He is a leading authority in economics and finance in China, and is recognized for his academic works in corporate finance, financial markets, and the Chinese economy.

He is the author of “The Finance We Love: Rebuilding China’s Finance in the New Era”, “Big to Brilliant 2.0: Reconstructing the Underpinnings of China’s High-Quality Development”, “Corporate China 2.0: The Great Shakeup” and “Finance in Asia: Institutions, Regulation and Policy”. Professor LIU is the Chang Jiang Scholar Special Term Professor awarded by the Ministry of Education, the Distinguished Young Scholar awarded by National Science Foundation, and the Most Influential Chinese Economist of 2017 awarded by China Newsweek. He worked at McKinsey & Company from 2001 to 2003, where he advised various MNCs and leading Asian companies on corporate finance and strategies. Before joining Guanghua, he taught in the Faculty of Business & Economics of HKU and was tenured.
