Nicolas Doucet, the producer of "Robot宇宙", stated that he would rather enjoy pure pleasure for a brief period than spend dozens of hours playing a game that he wants to skip.
Doucet said, "Twelve to fifteen hours of condensed joy, with no five-minute sections that feel tedious or insufficient – that's more valuable than forty hours of playtime because it doesn't leave you wanting to skip anything. If we can accept this, then we can make things somewhat manageable."
In an earlier interview with VGC, Doucet revealed that another core design principle of "Robot宇宙" was to fill a gap in PlayStation Studios' transition from producing "cartoon-like games" to producing more mature and surreal games.
