汨罗白塘镇处于汨罗江、湘江、沅江、洞庭湖三江一湖交汇处，极易面临洪涝的威胁。近日，为确保河道行洪畅通无阻，白塘镇政府迅速行动，组建了一支精干的“砍青”队伍——他们头戴安全头盔，身穿醒目的工作服，手持专业工具，在雨中穿梭，地毯式清除河堤两旁的杂草、灌木，以打造防汛行洪“安全通道”。
在白塘镇，一支由本地20余名居民组成的机动抢险队伍整装待发，随时准备应对可能出现的紧急情况。为了提升应急反应能力，早在6月初，该镇民兵应急排前往岳阳市民兵训练基地参加民兵专业训练，学习防汛抗洪技能。
