今年的“CDF之声”栏目邀请参会代表分享过去一年来自己与所领导的企业、所在行业的经历以及他们的感悟。
今天做客“CDF之声”的波士顿咨询公司(BCG)的首席执行官施伟策(Christoph Schweizer)。
施伟策表示,中国对我个人来说非常重要。
他19岁高中毕业后的第一次旅行就是来到中国,在一家德资纺织公司实习。那是他第一次真正离开自己长大的德国小村庄。“对我来说是一次难以置信的成长经历。”
对BCG来说,中国也有着非同寻常的重要性。BCG是第一家进入中国的外国咨询公司,在过去的三十多年里为许多企业的商业转型提供了支持。
施伟策指出,当前企业都面临两个重要转型,它们既是挑战,亦是重要的机遇。一是气候与可持续转型,二是数字化转型。
最后,施伟策表示,为应对全球性挑战,世界比以往任何时刻都更需要共识与合作。新冠疫情凸显了企业推动世界积极向前发展的重要作用。只有通过集体承诺、行动和参与,我们才能取得所需的进展。

大家好,我是波士顿咨询公司(BCG)的首席执行官施伟策,感谢邀请我参加今年的中国发展高层论坛(CDF)。
李瑞麒是CDF的老朋友了,能从他的手中接过BCG首席执行官的接力棒,我倍感荣幸。我期待着以这一新角色开启中国之旅,并希望能很快参加CDF这一盛会。
中国对我个人来说非常重要。我19岁高中毕业后的第一次旅行就是来到中国。我在一家德资纺织公司实习了几个月。
那是我第一次真正离开我在德国长大的那个小村庄,对我来说是一次难以置信的成长经历。
对BCG来说,中国也有着非同寻常的重要性。我们在中国有近千名极具才能的专业人士,他们致力于造福社会,推动发展。
作为第一家进入中国的外国咨询公司,BCG在过去的三十多年里为许多企业的商业转型提供了支持。我们的工作涉及方方面面,从战略到运营,从组织设计到商业模式创新,从创造、孵化、投资具有颠覆性的初创企业到推动端到端的数字化转型。
鉴于科技的快速发展和不断涌现的企业需求,BCG于2019年在深圳设立了亚太区数字化中心,作为我们的数字人才及运营枢纽。
我们的全球智库——BCG亨德森智库也在中国设有机构。这一智库结合中国和全球企业的管理智慧,不断探索管理科学的最前沿。
在我担任BCG首席执行官的头几个月里,我有幸会见了来自世界各地及各行业的100多位首席执行官和数十位高层领导者。在和他们的对谈中,我注意到了两个反复被提及的主题——它们既是挑战,亦是重要的机遇。
首先是如何把我们在气候与可持续性方面的承诺变为现实。
许多首席执行官都在2020年和2021年做出了重要的气候承诺。他们现在需要确定如何实现这些目标。所有利益相关方——员工、客户、投资方和社区——都在施加压力,要求取得快速进展。
这就要求领导者与供应商及客户合作,做出实质性的长期资本承诺,并押注新技术。
第二是加速采用数字化技术的持续需求。
人工智能和数据将从根本上改变我们的工作方式,使我们的任务更具创造性,更注重决策,而非事务性。
快速有效地投资并部署人工智能——这往往是更大范围的数字化转型的一部分——对于获得长期竞争优势至关重要。
为应对全球性挑战,世界比以往任何时刻都更需要共识与合作。新冠疫情凸显了企业推动世界积极向前发展的重要作用。只有通过集体承诺、行动和参与,我们才能取得所需的进展。
作为凝聚共识、培育合作的重要平台,在即将到来的CDF盛会上,相信中国和全球也将有机会求同共贏,聚力共同发展。我预祝2022年CDF圆满成功,并祝大家在新的一年里蒸蒸日上。
Hi, I’m Christoph Schweizer, CEO of Boston Consulting Group. Thank you for inviting me to this year’s China Development Forum.
It’s been an honor to take the CEO baton from Rich Lesser, an old friend of CDF. I look forward to traveling to China in my new role and joining the CDF in person hopefully very soon.
China is important to me on a very personal level. My very first trip after graduating from high school at the age of 19 was to China. I spent several months there working for a textile company.
It was my first real experience leaving the little village that I grew up in Germany, and it was an incredibly formative experience for me.
For BCG, China is also of extraordinary importance. We have nearly 1,000 very talented professionals in the region who are committed to helping the local community thrive.
As the first foreign consulting company in China, BCG has supported many companies during their business transformation journeys over the past 30+ years. Our work has included everything from strategy to operations, from organization design to business model innovation, and from creating new digital ventures to end-to-end digital transformations.
In the light of rapid technology development and the emerging needs of companies, BCG set up our Asia Pacific Digital Center in Shenzhen in 2019 as a hub for our digital talent and operations.
Our global think-tank, the BCG Henderson Institute, also has a presence in China. Combining management wisdom from both Chinese and global firms, the institute seeks to explore the frontier of management science.
During my first months as CEO, I’ve had the privilege of meeting with over 100 CEOs and dozens of other senior leaders from around the world and across industries. I’m struck by two recurring themes in those conversations – challenges that also represent significant opportunities.
The first is how to make Climate and Sustainability Commitments real.
For many CEOs, 2020 and 2021 were years for making substantial climate commitments. These CEOs now need to identify how to achieve these targets. The pressure is on from all stakeholders—employees, customers, investors, and communities—to make fast progress.
This will require leaders to cooperate with suppliers and customers, make substantial long-term capital commitments, and bet on new technologies.
The second is the ongoing need to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies.
AI and data will radically change how people work, making their tasks more creative, more decision-oriented, and less transactional.
Investing in and deploying AI quickly and effectively, often as a part of broader digital transformations, will be essential to achieving a long-term competitive advantage.
More than ever, the world needs consensus and cooperation among business communities to tackle global challenges. The pandemic highlighted the critical role businesses can play in moving the world forward. It is through collective commitment, action and engagement that we can achieve progress.
As an important platform for building consensus and cultivating collaborations, CDF will be a timely event for the Chinese and global business communities to find common ground. I wish the CDF 2022 every success and everyone a prosperous year ahead.
