刘铁民，中国安全生产科学研究院院长，研究员，博士生导师，国务院应急预案专家组成员，国家安全生产专家组专家。
长期从事职业安全健康科研和安全卫生工程技术工作，负责完成了安全科技领域国家七五、八五、九五和十五科技攻关，国家重点科技项目、国家重点示范工程项目和国际合作项目三十余项。参与了安全生产法律、法规和技术标准的立法和制修订工作。参与制定国家
发改委、国家科技部和国家安全监管局等国家有关部门组织的安全科技发展战略和重大项目规划制定。
兼任中国劳动保护工业企业协会副理事长，国际职业卫生委员会(ICOH)成员，首都经贸大学等五所高校兼职教授及博士生导师等。
已获省部级以上科技成果二等奖六项、三等奖七项，编著《现代职业安全卫生》等十余部学术专著，主持编制和执笔起草了大量工程技术总结报告，在国内外发表学术论文100多篇，1993年获政府特殊津贴。
Introduction of Prof. Tiemin Liu
Prof. Tiemin Liu, general director of National Center of Safety Science, & Technology State Administration of Work Safety.
Prof. Tiemin Liu devoted himself to research and development of occupational safety and health all the time. He has completed 26 national key OSH projects as a project leader, and took charge of 9 projects concerning OSH construction demonstration granted by the other ministries. He led to many international cooperation projects too.
He participated in legislations of China Low of Work Safety and its subsidiary regulations and standards, and organized and developed the implementation of OSHMS in China. Now he is still charged of 6 national key projects from Ministry of Science and Technology and State Committee of Plan and Development.
In addition he takes many social position, such as deputy director of China Enterprises Association of Labor Protection Industry, deputy director of Committee Safety and Health on Mine of China Committee for Labor Protection, member of International Committee of Occupational Health, and university professor and supervisor.
He published 7 monographs including "Modern Occupational safety and Health" etc., and drafted many technical project thesis and over 100 papers.
