　　Introduction of forum

　　Renewable energy resources, which has the characteristic of greatly potential, low environment-pollution and being utilized perpetually, is importantly advantageous for harmonious development of human being. In recent years, with losing balance of traditional energy sources’ supply and demand increasingly, and becoming warmer of the global climate, all the countries in the world begin to promote and advance the safety of energy to country strategic altitude , strengthen developing the technique of renewable energy and making use of renewable energy numerously.

　　China is a country that producing and consuming energy greatly, simultaneously in prompt development of economy , China is confronted with double the pressure of energy shortage and environmental protection. It is the inevitable choice that China should develop and use renewable sources of energy to realize national economy sustainable development. In recent governmental work report, Premier Wen Jiabao points out: Making great efforts energetically to save energy, reduce consumption and to protect the environment. China government points out in energy middle-long term plan that renewable sources of energy will reach to about 16% in energy source composition in 2020. The 11th 5 year-plan points out that China will encourage to develop renewable energy energetically, put the preferential finance, tax and invest policies into practice. Therefore, Chinese renewable energy sources and the renewable energy market will be potentially enormous.

　　Take this as background, 1st Science & Technology Innovation International Forum of China, which is hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and undertaken by The International Scientific Exchange Foundation of China, will be held on September15-16, 2007 in Friendship Hotel of Beijing. The subject of this year is Renewable Energy technology innovation and Policy support.
