Dr David K.P. Li is the Chairman and Chief Executive of The Bank of East Asia. He has represented the Finance Constituency in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong for over 20 years, and is also an unofficial member of the Executive Council. Dr Li plays an active role in the development of Hong Kong’s financial infrastructure as a member of the Banking Advisory Committee, and the Hong Kong Association of Banks (Committee).

Mr Fred Hu is a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. Before joining Goldman Sachs in 1997, he was a staff member at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington D.C., where he was engaged in macroeconomic research and policy consultations for a number of member country governments including China. Since 1996, he has been serving as co-director and a senior fellow (non-resident) of the National Centre for Economic Research (NCER) at Tsinghua University in Beijing. He has advised the Chinese government on financial reform, pension reform and macroeconomic policies. He sits on the Advisory Committee of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, and has published extensively on China and financial markets. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.

Ms Mary Ma is the Partner and Managing Director of TPG Capital.
Before joining TPG, Ms Ma was the Senior Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer of Lenovo Group Ltd. She joined the Group in 1990 and was appointed Executive Director in 1997, and is now the Non-executive Vice Chairman of Lenovo.
She was nominated for membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors in 2000 and has been a member since then. She has been a member of the Dean’s Council of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University since 2002. Professor Liu Wei is the Dean of the School of Economics and Professor of Economics at Peking University. He is the Chief Editor of Economics Science, and has won numerous awards and accolades, including winning twice the Sun Yefang Economics Scholarship (1994, 1996), China’s top national economics award. He has been actively involved in projects with the Ministry of Education and plays a prominent role in many academic institutions, including as VP of China Market Research Institute, VP of the China Private Economy Research Institute, and VP of the China Productivity Institute.

Mr Luo Yi is Managing Director and Chief Representative for Carlyle Asia Investment Advisors, where he focuses on Asia buyout opportunities and is primarily responsible for generating and executing investments in China. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr Luo was a VP of Merrill Lynch & Co.’s Investment Banking division in Hong Kong, where he led execution and origination efforts on a number of prominent capital markets and M&A transactions for clients in China, such as the IPO for CNOOC and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank’s sale of a strategic stake to Citigroup. Prior to that, he was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs & Co.

Dr Zhou Quan joined IDGVC in 1993 and has been the Managing Director since 1995. Dr Zhou got his Bachelor’s degree in science from China Science and Technology University in 1981, a Master’s degree from the Chinese Academy of Science in 1984, and a Ph.D. in fibre optics from Rutgers University in 1989. He has won awards from NASA and holds U.S. patent in fibre optic devices.
