Game Freak, the developer of the Pokémon series of games, was hacked in August 2024 and had its internal secret information exposed. One of the stolen materials was the game design for "Pokémon Z," which was a standalone theme work independent from "Pokémon X/Y."
"Pokémon Z" centered around the story of protecting the world balance with the oversized Pokémon called "Gigalith." In this game, Gigalith served as a guardian to maintain harmony among different factions. Its form would change according to opponents.
Although "Pokémon Z" never came to market, it inspired the creation of "Pokémon Tatsuki: Z-A," which will be released next year (in 2025). Some elements from "Z-A" may inherit from the original "Z" design.
