该项目以中原原油为原料，生产石蜡、微晶蜡，应用领域十分广泛。目前，世界微晶蜡、石蜡产量为380万吨。我国年产已经突破150万吨，出口量达到65万吨，占世界石蜡贸易总量的4成左右。除了德国和中国是单纯的石蜡输出国外，其他国家每年都需要进口大量石蜡。石蜡产品是我国唯一能够打入国际市场，并占有较高市场份额的石油化工产品，随着全球
