The Government of Sierra Leoneunderthe 2004 budgetary provisions has made available funds totheMinistry of Health and Sanitation for the procurementofpharmaceuticals for Hospital and peripheral Health Units.2.TheMinistry of Health and Sanitation hereby
invites sealed bidsfromprimary manufacturers of their authorizedrepresentativesregistered in Sierra Leone with the Pharmacy Boardfor the supplyof :Lot 1: Essential DrugsLot 2: Drugs forReproductive HealthA“primary manufacturer” is defined as a companythat performs allthe manufacturing and fabricating operationsneeded to producepharmaceuticals in their appropriate dosage forms,includingprocessing, blending, formulating, filling, packing,labeling andquality testing. Bids may be submitted by an authorizedagent forand on behalf of the primary manufacturer provided the bidisaccompanied by a duly notarized letter of authorizingthedesignated agent to bid solely for on behalf of theprimarymanufacturer. Merchant exporters, pre-packers, shippers andtraderare not classified as primary manufacturer and bids from themwillnot be accepted. Documentary evidence will be required ofallbidders that they have qualifications, experience and capacitytobe able to successfully complete the contract on time forthepharmaceutical offered.3. Bidding will be conducted throughtheNational Competitive Bidding Procedures specified in theinterimRules and Regulations Governing public Sector Procurement inSierraLeone march 1st 2004 and is open to all firms, which areregisteredin Sierra Leone and the products they intend to supplymust beregistered with the pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone.4.Interestedeligible bidders may obtain further information form andinspectthe bidding documents at the office of:TheProcurementManagerMinistry of Health and Sanitation4 FloorYouyiBuildingBrookfield’sFreetownTel: (+232.22) 24.22.34.5.
