中国明星银行家任克英任职美林

　　Margaret Ren， the former star China banker who left Citigroup nearly three years ago， is to return to the industry as chairman of China investment banking for Merrill Lynch.

　　Ms Ren， 48， who boasted 12 years of investment banking with Bear Stearns and Citigroup.

　　Her contacts in China helped her bag a number of lucrative share sales for her employers.

　　However， she and a colleague were suspended by Citigroup in June 2004 for allegedly presenting “false information to the company and its regulators” and she left the bank.

　　Merrill Lynch said that Ms Ren had been employed to help strengthen the bank's China franchise. Damian Chunilal， head of Pacific Rim investment banking at Merrill Lynch， brushed aside fears that Ms Ren was “yesterday's banker”， given that market conditions have changed during her absence.
