中国西部国际博览会（西博会）发轫于西部大开发，经中国国务院批准，由商务部等16个国家部委和西部12个省（区、市）及新疆生产建设兵团共同主办，迄今已成功举办14届。历经14年发展，西博会已成为中国西部地区重要的投资促进、贸易合作和外交服务平台。

　　第十四届西博会以“构建区域合作新格局、激发西部发展新活力”为主题，将于2013年10月23日至27日在成都举办。首次设立主宾国，由蒙古国担任；轮值主席单位为云南省，主题市州为阿坝州。本届西博会秉承“共办、共享、共赢”办会理念，按照节俭、务实、高效办会原则，更加突出国际化、专业化、市场化，更加强化区域交流合作。

　　第十四届西博会将加强与联合国开发计划署、联合国项目服务厅、博鳌亚洲论坛等重要国际组织的合作，以发达经济体和新兴经济体为目标，以西部地区的开放开发为重点，致力于投资贸易成果的取得，积极多方争取国家各主办（支持）部委、各省（区、市）和新疆生产建设兵团广泛参与，结合展览展示，精心设计影响大、效果好的重大活动，筹划举办主题鲜明、内容丰富、形式多样的投资促进与贸易合作专项活动，同时在四川省内具备条件的有关市（州）设立分会场，不断提升西博会国际影响力。

　　Western China International Fair

　　Western China International Fair (WCIF) originated from China Western Development under the approval of the Chinese State Council， is co-hosted by 16 ministries and commissions including National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Commence as well as 12 provinces (regions and municipalities) in western China. So far， it has been held for 14 sessions successfully. After 14 years' development， the WCIF has now become an important investment promotion platform， trade cooperation platform and diplomatic service platform in the western region of China.

　　The 15th WCIF will be held in two phases from October 23 to November 3， 2014 in Chengdu， Sichuan，with a total exhibition area reaches 240，000 square meters. The first phase will be held from October 23 to 26 and the second phase from October 30 toNovember 3.

　　The first phase bears functions more in business/culture exchanges and B-to-B cooperation promotion. In terms of exhibition， it mainly focuses on national image showcasing of different countries and economic， cultural or tourism promotionof their states/counties/provinces， as well as industrial manufacturing and technology in China’s and other countries’ markets， with exhibits including economic environment presentation， integrated cultural products， general aviation， electronics， high-end manufacturing， new material & energy， emergency items， etc..

　　The second phase contains more consuming products and facilitates B-to-C businesses， with exhibits in fields of agriculture， arts and crafts， textile and apparel， furniture and decoration， etc..

　　Review on the 14th Western China International Fair

　　The total area for exhibition was 180，000 square meters. Over 4000 exhibitors from 72 countries， 28 provinces in China participated in the event， among which the number and the exhibition area of overseas enterprises took up 43% and 40.2% in respective. The trading volume reached RMB107.83 billion， among which the overseas trading volume met 6.15 billion US dollars， taking up 34.4%. 462 investment projects were signed with contracting amount of RMB563.18 billion， of which， 25 projects were foreign funded projects with investment amount of 5.92 billion US dollars. 56 investment promotion activities in relation to over 10 sectors such as investment， trade， finance， education， culture， agriculture and tourism were held， nearly 50% of them include international theme， hosts or participants. Over 19300 professional buyers from 69 countries and regions partook in the 6th Western China International Sourcing Fair. The visitor flow in the main exhibition hall exceeded 400，000.
