March, 2006: Global Coaches Network Expands to China 揑 know it would come, I just didn't know it would come this fast.? That's what president and CEO of Global Coaches, Barrie Zucal said referring to her organization's recent expansion to China. Global Coaches, which is just sixteen months old, has global leadership coaches in the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, India, and Australia. These coaches have expertise in twenty-three cultures, and coach in twelve languages. Now due to client demand they need coaches in China. Barrie Zucal, president, and CEO of Global Coaches, traveled to Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong to interview coaches she connected with before her travel through professional associations and colleague referrals. Barrie is happy to report that she found executive coaches with senior level experience, Chinese and western living in Asia, who will be joining the network. Pamela Tse is one of those coaches. She holds a business degree and has received intensive training and career exposure in U.S. and Asia. She brings 30 years of coaching, human resources development, and management consulting experience to her practice. She has worked for some of the world's largest corporations including Exxon, Chase Manhattan Bank, HSBC and Cathay Pacific Airways. Lesley Lewis is another. A long time Hong Kong resident, she has more than twenty years experience in Asia, Europe and North America working with top executives in leading financial services organizations, multinational corporations, and governments including the U.S. Department of State and the Hong Kong SAR. Pamela and Lesley are just two examples of the professional coaches who are joining with Global Coaches to provide global leadership coaching to their client organization in China. All Global Coaches Network coaches have lived and worked in cultures other than their own. Many have been business leaders themselves and have industry specific experience in many different industries. Others come from a psychological background and have coached senior organizational leaders. They are all familiar with the unique challenges and opportunities of working globally while trying to achieve business objectives. They have all been trained in Global Leadership Coaching by Global Coaches Network. January 2006: Global Coaches Network begins an Alliance with Healthy Companies International Global Coaches Network, a worldwide alliance of forty global leadership coaches, consultants, and counselors home based in Washington DC in the United States has joined forces to work with Healthy Companies International, an Arlington, Virginia, US based organization. October, 2005: Global Coaches Holds first Training for Global Coaches in Alexandria, Virginia, United States. Global Coaches Network, worldwide alliance of forty global leadership coaches, consultants, and counselors home based in Washington DC in the United States held their first coach training in Alexandria, Virginia in Oct. 2006. Executive coaches from Australia, Europe, Canada, India, and the United States met for three and a half days to expand their already high level competencies and experience to include the competencies necessary to coach global organizational leaders. Many of these coaches have been global business leaders themselves before they became coaches. Mary Ann Donahue was there. Before she studied coaching, she served as Vice president, Human Development at Medtronic, Inc. Before that she spent fourteen years as Global Management and Organizational Development and as a Human Resource generalist with Honeywell. Jeff Reed also attended. Before he got into coaching, he was in corporate leadership himself as an expatriate manager building brands and businesses for a number of leading global consumer goods companies in a wide variety of cultural environments in Asia Pacific and Europe. He worked for companies such as Gillette, Carnation International and Unilever in places such as London, Scandinavia, Singapore, Pakistan, and China. These experienced business leaders turned coaches came together to become pioneers in the field of 揼lobal leadership coaching?where basic coaching skill and even excellent experience at executive coaching is not enough. At this training they became certified and skilled in the use of the Cultural Orientations Inventory, and the Cultural Orientations Model for assessing individual cultural preferences which are often influencing the way that a global leader leads without him or her having any awareness of the impact of cultural preferences on what they do. This tool and model, developed by the Training Management Corporation, in Princeton, New Jersey help leaders to engage their culturally diverse workforce. Coaches were also schooled in the EAGLE program, a leadership development plan for global leaders developed by Barrie Zucal, President and CEO of Global Coaches Network and Senior Associate Kathy Trickey. EAGLE stand stands for Executive Assessment and Global Leadership Excellence. As the flagship program of Global Coaches Network, this program provides basic knowledge of concepts and processes needed for global coaches working to enhance the capacity of global leaders in global organizations worldwide. The end result for the leader is competency in the personal, business and leadership, and cultural arenas of his/her life and the opportunity to have a powerful positive impact on their organization's results and the global community. This is the first of several trainings as Global Coaches Network grows rapidly to meet the needs of their client organizations worldwide.
