期铜盘初持稳，投资者关注Escondida劳资纠纷

　　文华财经（综合编译 李志伟）--据伦敦8月1日消息，LME期铜欧洲市场盘初周二徘徊在近期阻力位7,850美元附近，市场关注Escondida铜矿劳资谈判进展。

　　交易商称，若智利Escondida铜矿的工人罢工，期铜将测试8,000美元。

　　0747 GMT，LME三个月期铜报每吨7,850美元。

　　 LONDON, August 2 (Reuters) - Copper was steady in early

　　London Metal Exchange trading on Wednesday as investors were

　　poised to react to news from Chile about a possible strike at

　　the Escondida mine.

　　 "Everybody is asking about Escondida," a European trader

　　said.

　　 A strike at the world's largest mine would begin on August 7

　　if ongoing contract talks between management and the union fail.

　　 Three-months futures were quoted at $7,780/7,795 per

　　tonne at 0746 GMT, up $10 from Tuesday's kerb close.

　　 "With a strike pending at Escondida and with Chuquicamata

　　still losing output, there is good reason to remain bullish for

　　copper," said analyst William Adams at Basemetals.com.

　　 "Although the market has had time to digest the potential

　　for a strike in Chile, if one does get off the ground, then

　　there may well be further room on the upside."

　　 Century Aluminium and union workers at its

　　Ravenswood smelters said late on Tuesday they had reached a

　　tentative deal, avoiding a potential strike there.

　　 Aluminium was down $2 at $2,533/2,538.

　　 Diversified miner Xstrata posted an expected 42

　　percent rise in first-half profits, largely on higher sales

　　prices for its products.

　　 It said it was upbeat about the second half as it prepares

　　to complete a C$24 billion ($21 billion) bid for Canadian miner

　　Falconbridge .

　　Escondida铜矿工人可能即将罢工等为市场提供支撑，周一期铜收高至7,950美元，隔夜亚洲市场下滑约2%，因该矿的劳资双方重启谈判。
